    Windows 8 is released

Windows 8 is released today, Microsoft has started to deliver Windows 8 RTM (Release To Manufacture) to their OEM manufacturing partners.

MSDN and TechNet subscriber will be able to download Windows 8 (final release) on August 15th. The official launch for the public of Windows 8 is the 26th of October.

Windows 8 replaces the traditional start button with the new Metro start screen.

Here are some Tips for the new OS:

The setup tutorial shows users how they can swipe from any edge of their screen to reveal new options on a touch-enabled device.

On a Touch device, swiping up on the screen reveals the Start screen, swiping from the right edge shows the charms bar, and swiping from the left lets you multitask between apps.

On devices with mouse input, the functionality can be accessed over “hot corners” (just point with your mouse to a corner, to show e.g. the charms bar)
